Was established in February 1996 by Mr James Barnier and Mr Stuart Fox, who believed that the industry was in need of a young enthusiastic company who would service the needs of the corporate business sector.

Deans Barnier Fox has quickly become one of the largest general auction companies in Australia with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Wagga Wagga and Dubbo.

The Deans group has vast experience in all facets of the auction industry.

Office Furniture

This is the biggest department in the group with Sydney conducting the largest regular fortnightly office furniture auction in Homebush. As well as in rooms auctions of this type we conduct regular on site office furniture auctions. Recent such auctions have been Citibank 18 floors, Price Waterhouse Coopers 30 floors, NRMA 5 buildings, 45 floors, Australian Petroleum 18 floors.

On Site - Special Auctions

Deans Barnier Fox does not just have the experience and knowledge in Office Furniture, but conducts regular on site auctions for various ranges of products in various industries.

Recently Deans Barnier Fox disposed of $7million worth of the latest fibre optic manufacturing equipment for Nortel, we have done many engineering, metal & woodworking shops, for Sydney City Council, Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services, Australian Hearing, CSIRO.

Also, warehousing is an area we have conducted considerable auctions and have a vast knowledge in.

Special event auctions such as The Sea Creatures from New Years 2000 have also been very successful projects which Deans Barnier Fox have completed.

Valuation

Deans Barnier Fox have staff which are very experienced in all areas of valuation from Office furniture and IT to Machinery and Vehicles to Test and Lab equipment.

Our staff understand that the valuation of any product is the most important fact of reporting and that the accuracy of a valuation is paramount this is why a lot of time is spent on valuing and as much information as possible on a product is sought before a final value is specified.

Deans Barnier Fox stands by its valuations and guarantees can be supplied for any product when the time comes to realising its value.

Valuation reports can be supplied within any time frame required as we understand that initially all matters of business making decisions in many cases revolves around the valuation.

Marketing

Deans Barnier Fox believe that it is important to spend the right money in order to market a product for sale properly so as to realise the best possible maximum return. Gone are the days where an advertisement in Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald is sufficient.

Deans Barnier Fox use various other print media such as Financial Review, various local newspapers, in order to attract a wider cross section of customers.

Deans Barnier Fox has used radio on a regular basis for larger auctions with great success.

Flyers are mailed out using our database which specifies various buyers in different markets.

All auctions are promoted on our website with catalogues being available for each sale and photographs included if necessary.

Sale by auction is not always the best method of sale for certain products. Tendering, Direct sales, exporting for sale, these are all other options that we have used to increase returns. Each case needs to be looked at individually to decide on the best method of sale with the correct marketing.

Warehouse

Deans Barnier Fox is located at the Unit 1, No 1 Burroway Rd Homebush Bay (via Hill Rd)

Deans Barnier Fox is the most centrally located warehouse and auction rooms in Sydney. Being 25 minutes from the Sydney CBD and 25 minutes from Parramatta. It is at the foot of the M4 motorway and 10 minutes from the M5 motorway. This makes it very accessible for buyers from both country regions and all of Sydney's major business districts. Being so close to these areas, our in room auctions are well attended by dealers and private buyers alike.

The rooms are services by a large 300 space car park, loading docks so as delivery and pick up of goods is hassle free and cost effective for both vendors and buyers.

Payment

All auction proceeds are paid direct from Deans Barnier Fox trust account within 14 working days of the auction. This payment can be made sooner if it is critical to the situation.
